AT THE FUNERAL

AT THE FUNERAL
by ASIIMWE SAM RUHINDI

Its dawn the morning cock is alarming
The whole land is quite and cold
Everyone is grieved and crying a river
In soft voices saying he was a good person
Slow and touching melody playing behind
Words of compassion to family of the deceased
Words like I will be there for you
This at times ends with the ceremony
It’s the time when good speeches are said
Covering your worst part of life
As they lay fine decorated wreath on you
The priest will bless your soul
As they move you down the cemetery
Where the priest will say to soil goes back soil
As they low down your casket in 6by 6 hole
In white tiles with a cross crying for the last
It’s the time they will bow down for you
Respecting the work of your hands
Saying goodbye and they will miss you
Oh yeah it’s at the funeral

WHO WILL SAVE THE WORLD?

WHO WILL SAVE THE WORLD?
by ASIIMWE SAM RUHINDI

As I walk down beautiful
Streets of Kigali in a warm
Dawn song birds are singing
It’s a safe state for me
But I draw thoughts, thoughts
On the other world am so
Fascinated by the past
And the t present world
It’s so wild and violent
Million lives perish day to day
Still young and innocent ooh!!
Avarice of natural endurements
Being the catalyst of the scenario
A strong question runs my mind
Who will save the world??
Is it an alien or an Angel?
No it’s me and you, you
Love and unity being
Our rhyme always
To make the world our home
Areal paradise not ruin
The world is you and me.

WHY

WHY
BY ASIIMWE SAM RUHINDI

In every dream I dream of
In every thought I think of
Every question I ask my self
Remains the same why?
I wonder why some do great
Others become so jealous
And I ask my self why
?
I wonder why some people are greedy
Avarice and bounties colonized them
Great people have gone
Their memories light our path
This world appreciates in their absence
And my question remains why?

Advise that you’re inconveniencing
Then scorners raise their vocals
Everybody wants to be on top
We share red blood, same tears
As a sign of brother hood
A slight difference in skin colour
Foolishly leads us to racism why?

Natural endurements light our world
Man shed blood for it
Innocent young blood become orphans
We are all passer’s by
This world is not our own
My wish is work together like

Ants preserve our dignity
