ODE TO OUR HEROES BY ASIIMWE SAM RUHINDI
Bene kanyarwanda do you remember
The nights of trembling
The days of ichor
And the world of tears.
The truth became lies
The lies took the throne
Forests sheltered us
And also fed us.
Killing was more than a game
Holding amachet was a pleasure
Betraying a friend was Joy and
Nights were short to the hunted.
The world kept a deaf ear
Watching carelessly yet they said
Love is the way and answer.
Your great sons and daughter
Never torolleted with situation
They sacrificed their lives
To bring light out of the darkness
Today what was aruin is a family
We all have awarm smile on our faces
We have a place we proudly call
Our home our mother land.
Their sacrifice was the cost
Of peace,unity,development we have today
Their patriotic spirit is our light every day
And always warm in our vains.
Their work is uncomparable
The land of thousand hills that was full of darkness
Is now a shinning star
That is lighting for the world
We your grand children
We want to keep your legacy alive
That's why we bid together in one
Umbrella ubutwari
We walk under the name Intore
Ubunyangamugayo is our motto
The spirit they left
Wont be forgotten.

WHOM WILL I BE?
WHOM WILL I BE? by ASIIMWE SAM RUHINDI
![]() |
Young leader |
Lying here and my eyes wide open
As I reminisce on words of angel mom
She was always fascinated about my future
And now couple of years after
She crossed the Styx
I get in the same mood
About whom will i be
Ese will I be a man
And own my family
A wife to grow old with
And we have winsome
children?
Will I be a leader
Maybe a minister or
An ambassador of my country
In a country far from home
And have that spinning chair in my office
Also move in those big cars
Oh future answer me
Will I be a celebrity?
And start signing autographs to people
When the world knows my name
And my picture is in hall of fame
Whom will I be?
Will I be a hero who will
Change the world with words
Not guns and bullets
And get written in world history
Like nelson Mandela and Nkwame Nkrumah
And be a role model to many?
Will I die and have many mourners
at my funeral making fine speeches
On how I was a great man
And the loss they will suffer
Will I be remembered of my personality?
Will I be remembered as a brave man?
Or a courageous man
Will my deeds count in my absence?
Future I have no more worries
On whom I’ll be because my father
Says he has plans for me
To make me prosper not to harm me
Plans to give me hope and future
My name is SAM
This comes from SAMUEL
Meaning God has heard
Yes indeed he has and will always here me
Future i have no more worries on whom i'll be.
Inspired by future will be alegend

REPOSE
REPOSE
No one ever wants you to visit
even to talk about you
your so inhuman
every one calls you his name
i hear in Lusoga they call you walumbe
in kiswahili they call you kifo
and in french la mort
you come in a silent way
and leave no footprints behind
but only grief in our veins
you take laughters of our beautiful people
you take them with no departure echo
and hide them in the styx
where we'll never hear from them
you've claimed lives of innocent children
you've separated loved ones
even the great men have left us
what do we owe you
that makes you behave this way
would you leave us
if we gave you gold and diamonds?
Every time you pass by
you leave mothers and children mourning
and eyes of men glued to the sky
thinking on how they will also
leave suddenly and
leave with out saying goodbye
to their children and wives
Oh walumbe! kifo! la mort!
why don't you have mercy
and stop making us pass
Through this painful journey.

……….ME & YOU
……….ME & YOU by Asiimwe sam Ruhindi
I woke up in grief
As I reminisce on words of grandpa
Before crossing the Styx
He used to tell me the world they lived
How beautiful it was
Full of peace and love
Of which is a myth to me now
Everyday walking up to breaking news
Of bombings around the globe
And I ask myself what happened
Where is the beauty he talked of?
Where did it fade to?
A million innocent lives perishing
Every now and then.
Which world will our children
And children after them live in?
Where is the peace we need?
Who will shelter for the homeless?
And feed the starving?
Is it an angel from blue sky?
More guns on street? ...No, not that
It’s you and me to change the world
Make it a better place
A paradise, not hell.
A paradise, not hell.

ODE TO MOTHERLAND
ODE TO MOTHERLAND BY ASIIMWE SAM RUHINDI
Cloudburst of bullets
Millions of innocent quenched machetes
Streams of blood drained our land
Acrid sent covered heavens
Vultures and Reynard fed
The world turned a blind eye
The days were filled with ichor
And nights short to the hunted
They said love is the way and answer
But look how they treated us
Made us believers and we
Slew each other furiously
Brushing aside our brotherhood
what was a family became a ruin
what was a family became a ruin
Twenty one years down the road
The light glistered again
In the land of thousand hills
We now remember to keep
Alive memories of genocide
To teach our selves
Our children and
Children after them
Not judge each other by
Their ethnicity, height
Or shape of nose
We remember not to revenge
But to learn from our history x2
To unite and save our future
A thousand candles are lit
Every year as a sign of peace
We want to pass on to
Our children and generation after them
We walk in same rhyme
ND'UMUNYARWANDA X3
We bind together saying never again
To genocide against humanity
Never and never again

YOU LOVED ME
YOU LOVED ME BY ASIIMWE SAM RUHINDI
Storm over my soul
Thunder and quake in my heart
Fear in my vein
But am not shaken
Because you loved me
In absence of parents
You cared for me
In absence of friends
you were the best friend
It's because you loved me
You wiped off my tears
Fixed my broken heart
Drew off my worries
Healed my wounds
Because you loved me
You're my crying shoulder
My resting place always
Source of my joy ever
You make my life meaningful
Because you loved me
My people have obulated my soul
To wicca for richness
But you,you gave out your son
To rescue my life
Because you loved me
Storm over my soul
Thunder and quake in my heart
Fear in my vein
But am not shaken
Because you loved me
In absence of parents
You cared for me
In absence of friends
you were the best friend
It's because you loved me
You wiped off my tears
Fixed my broken heart
Drew off my worries
Healed my wounds
Because you loved me
You're my crying shoulder
My resting place always
Source of my joy ever
You make my life meaningful
Because you loved me
My people have obulated my soul
To wicca for richness
But you,you gave out your son
To rescue my life
Because you loved me

PATRIARCH
PATRIARCH by ASIIMWE SAM RUHINDI
Here your lying in crypt
so silent like old rock
flowers are smiling at your life
why did you cross the styx?
leaving me alone in this furious world
would you get up and talk to me
Did you love me?
If you loved me then
Why go with matriarch
Tributaries of tears run
in our hearts always
Yawning to see you again
Vesta became my matriarch
and brother my patriarch
It's hard to bear this
feeling when it's hard
to believe your absence
your people oblated us
To wicca for richness
would you wake up
and hold me closely
telling me everything is okey?
Oh patriarch patriarch.
Here your lying in crypt
